The Lisson gallery is planning a retrospective survey in its New York City space of the paintings of Leon Polk Smith. It is currently planned to be held in 2021, dates to be determined. The New York City independent scholar and curator Lynn Zelevansky, former director of the Carnegie Museum of Art in Pittsburgh and previously a curator at the Los Angeles County Museum of Art and The Museum of Modern Art, New York is curating the exhibition. The exhibition consists of paintings and two works on paper spanning from 1949 to 1996. A major catalogue with an essay by Zelevansky will be produced in conjunction with the exhibition.
